Yamabushi Kai-Ken are bred to meet the FCI standards for the breed. Many of the bloodlines of the Kai-Ken in North America have become compromised and inbred; it is our mission to correct this trend through careful selection of our Kai-Ken bloodlines and selective breeding. The Kai-Ken is a primitive Japanese spitz-typehunting breed and shares similar personality traits to other primitive spitz-typehunting breeds from around the world. These traits are what make Kai-Ken special and help them perform the roles for which they were bred. In some areas, Kai-Ken are still used to perform these roles, such as hunting. This pedigree and history gives the Kai-Ken some very unique characteristics and it is our goal to continue these traits in our breeding program. We breed our Yamabushi Kai-Ken to be primitive, loyal, and non-aggressive.
If you are new to the Kai-Ken breed please take the time to read about the breed, or view some pictures in our gallery. If you have any questions regarding our Kai-Ken breeding program please feel free to contact us at info@YamabushiKennel.org.
If you are interested in being considered for the purchase of a Yamabushi Kai-Ken, please take the time to fill out our Kai-Ken puppy placement questionnaire. Once the questionnaire is completed please email it to us at info@YamabushiKennel.org. A completed puppy placement questionnaire is a requirement to be considered for the purchase of a Yamabushi Kai-Ken, it provides us with very valuable information that will help us place the right puppy with the right owner.
